  • RBI Governor Dr. Raghuram Rajan visits Lupin Field areas

    RBI Governor Dr. Raghuram Rajan recently visited Lupin Foundations field areas of Bhopal, MP. Mingled among the villagers and self help groups, he appreciated the work done by Lupin particularly for financial inclusion of rural poor and women. He was very very keen to understand the impact of Lupin's work. One of the most important benefit quoted by the beneficiaries that pleased him was liberation of poor farmers from debt trap of moneylenders. With incessant credit support from Lupin, the women said they no longer have to borrow from the moneylenders, who charge exorbitant interest.
  • Lupin Foundation honoured by CM of Madhya Pradesh for CSR work

    Lupin Foundation Bhopal unit bagged the highly prestigious MPCCA Award for its CSR work. The award was conferred by Honorable Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh, Shir. Shivaraj Chauhan.
  • Release of the book by Honourable Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu Ji

    In 2013, Lupin Foundation,has completed 25 years of its journey of rural development. This book presents story of Lupin Foundation’s 25 years work for rural India. The book is an effort to capture glimpse of this enriching past. Visiting through organisational memory lanes, the memoir portrays the development work, evolving of approaches and strategies during this absorbing journey of Lupin Foundation in the service of rural India, which began on 2nd Oct, 1988, long before the corporate social responsibility concept was accepted widely. The book was released by Union Minister for Railways Shri Suresh Prabhu Ji and it was well received in media.

INTRODUCTION

Mata Shree Gomati Devi Jan Seva Nidhi (MSGD) is a non-governmental organization, registered under the Indian Trust Act 1882. This organization was established in 1993 by Hon’ble Dr. Desh Bandhu Gupta (Chairman, Lupin Ltd.). MSGD has strived to achieve socio-economic empowerment of the unprivileged sections of society.

Objectives:
The Foundation aims to act as a facilitator for the socio-economic empowerment of the community by enabling them to realize their potential and improving their quality of life through the following objectives:

  • Improving the livelihood of the poor and marginalized rural community through a diversified farming system.
  • Generating employment by promoting rural entrepreneurs.
  • Sensitizing the community about their rights and entitlements regarding health, education, social security and other community development schemes.

Approaches & Strategy:

  • Promote community-based organizations i.e. Self-Help Group, Matashree Gram Vikas Panchayat, Federations, JLGs, Farmer’s Clubs.
  • Encourage participatory approaches and ensured participation of the community at all levels.
  • Address gender & poverty issues.
  • Focus on small & marginal farmers, women and unemployed youth.
  • Develop linkages and partnership with various stakeholders.

Outreach:
The holistic development programme is operative in 150 villages in the seven blocks of the Alwar district in Rajasthan and continues to extend benefits to the thousands of poor families.
